After all of this time I had spent packaging up all of these stories in the hopes that eventually someone would be interested in animating them, it turns out that I don't need them! All thanks to Adobe Character Animator, which I only found around Summertime, but had actually been around since 2017 or so.
Which means that I probably could have been animating from almost the get-go, but at least this way I got to print out a box full of comic books. Character Animator has enough features that even someone who can barely draw a straight line (like me) can bring an idea to life! Now, I'm not affiliated with Adobe in any way whatsoever, I am just testifying to you that they have a really great product with Character Animator and how it integrates with After Effects. So, if you are one of those types that has an idea that you want to get out there but are not very tech-savvy, I implore you to check this program out!
I'm releasing the first three episodes of Critter Village to YouTube tomorrow morning (my Christmas present to you and me this year) and should have updates coming out pretty much weekly, from episodes to character spotlights and shorts, to Character Animator how-to videos.
The first 'season', if you want to call it that, will be mostly a meet-and-greet season where you can become acquainted with the main characters and their personalities. Nutso (the Anarchist squirrel) is in focus as we explore a few of the major plot points in the series. After we have introduced the characters, the second season will encompass more of the 'fun' episodes, and the third season should introduce a darker theme. Enjoy!
